Rendezvous with the Hon’ble Minister- Madam Teresa Kok, Minister of Primary Industries, Malaysia.


It was a very informative event of MPOC on 31st July, 2019 and we had a great time with our honourable Minister of Primary Industries Malaysia-Teresa kok suh sim for  palm oil , it creates new market demand which will lead to the firming up of commodity prices. This reduces the risk of prices falling to a low level as seen during the period of excess supply in 2001.

Farmers in the EU and the US see biofuel as an outlet for locally-grown vegetable oils. But subsidy is needed to make their costly oils competitive. Subsidies for biofuel in these countries have naturally attracted imports of cheaper palm oil as an alternative raw material. This has raised concerns among several politicians and farmers’ groups, who claim that their countries may unintentionally be subsidising foreign-produced oils.

Benefits of palm oil-

The health benefits of palm oil include its ability to improve energy levels and vision, prevent chronic diseases, boost immunity, prevent premature aging, protect against heart diseases. Palm oil is also beneficial for pregnant women.

Palm oil is an extremely useful vegetable oil. Palm oil is used for cooking and is also added to many ready-to-eat foods in your grocery store.
Palm oil is helpful for heart patients. Palm oil has been credited with providing protection against heart disease.

Teresa Kok Suh Sim (born 31 March 1964) is a Malaysian politician. She is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Seputehconstituency from the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. She has been serving as a Minister of Primary Industries since July 2018. She had shared about her journey and it was full of hardwork and struggles and it was inspiring.
